Dear mater was fond of reminding us children that we were [via her mother’s side] (in)direct descendants of the Blessed Union of Duncan II and Ethelreda, she of Northumberland. 1 Hence my third youngest brother’s moniker: Thomas Duncan.

So we say, You go, Scotland!

And for you naysayers:

Thomas Jefferson said that and he is as correct now as when he first put quill to parchment.

In fact, one might well mull over these words between now and our own November elections.

Seriously – it’s time to throw ALL the bums out and start afresh.
