Tooth Fairy

Here’s how I explained it:

There world is chock full of brilliant magic, truly it is; perhaps just not what you might expect.

Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and, yes, the Tooth Fairy: these do not exist. Except in our hearts. But that itself is wondrous; think about it – billions of people world-wide sharing in the same “belief” for no other reason than to bring joy to their children? Where else in the world does this exist? It doesn’t, anywhere. Why? Because true magic is selfless. That’s the real secret.

If you’re lucky as you grow up that sense of magic stays with you, it informs your thinking and how you interact with people: after all we are all bonded by an early sense of wonder and magic, a time when anything was possible, a time when if we wished hard enough we could fly.

Keep those feeling close to you heart; just because the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus don’t exist doesn’t mean they’re not real.

Go back to sleep now, okay? 1

  1. Le sigh: but for a polished silver dollar bouncing off the cold hard wood floor while retrieving a Baggied molar this morning…

Something to say...?
