Belaboring The Obvious

It’s official.

A long, careful look at the matter by the several US senators concludes enhanced interrogation techniques (water boarding, electrical shock via testicles, sleep deprivation et al) resulted in no significant information in the search for Osama bin Laden.

As you might expect the report has been “hotly disputed” by the torturers (the CIA.)

An obvious (though as yet recognised) corollary to the study is the lack of effectiveness of secret CIA renditions and longterm detention without benefit of trial.

Guantánamo Bay prisoners are said to be excited to read the study once it’s released.
