IKEA beer

Surprised you don't have to brew it yourself

So, of course IKEA would make a beer.

Just as naturally it’s not available stateside right now, though it’s being offered at all of IKEA’s UK stores. We found very few reviews of the suds, but what we did find sported the following trend: a slightly malty taste with a sweet undertone.

In the way of these things we expect that Kansas City’s local hopheads will be competing for the first “get”, followed by multiple fiercely competing beer blog posts on the relative merits (or not) of Öl Mörk Lager’s true taste.

Judging by the label we’re willing to bet it’s the lager equivalent of Two Buck Chuck; that is, acceptable for everyday use but nothing to swoon over. 1

Show 1 footnote

  1. Unless one’s a beer snob aficionado, with both a blog and a ‘reputation’ to promulgate, in which case it will either be the best thing ever released by a department store (snerk) or a blight upon humanity.

    1. Hmmm.

I hadn’t previously thought the lack of IKEA’s Öl Mörk Lager stateside due to President Obama’s e-vil machinations.

But you could have a pointy head I suppose.

Something to say...?
